CAPES ASSESSMENT

CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education) is the Brazilian agency of the Ministry of Education responsible for the evaluation of graduate courses (professional master’s, academic master’s, and doctorate). The process of the evaluation carried out by CAPES is continuous. The course in operation is evaluated every four years (from 2013) to verify that the goals proposed in the initial project have been fully achieved within the program scope. Otherwise, the program may be discredited. The graduate courses are evaluated by the scientific production of the faculty and student, the course syllabus, the research infrastructure, among other indicators.
The Gynecology and Obstetrics program has maintained grade 5 for the last three years and in 2017 received grade 6 in the Capes evaluation.
